WebCode Basis B.V. — Front-End Fundamentals in the Netherlands
We’re dedicated to teaching HTML and CSS from the ground up. Real web development skills, practical approach, no shortcuts.
Built on Real Foundation
Here’s what we’ve learned from years of teaching front-end development
WebCode Basis B.V. was founded because we saw a gap. Too many resources skip the fundamentals or make HTML and CSS feel like chores. We’re changing that. We’ve spent years developing a curriculum that doesn’t just teach syntax—it teaches understanding. When you learn with us, you’re learning how to think like a front-end developer, not just how to copy code.
We’re focused on clarity. HTML provides structure. CSS handles presentation. These aren’t complicated concepts, but they’re often taught in ways that make them seem that way. Our students start with semantic HTML, move through CSS layouts with Flexbox and Grid, and build actual projects they’re proud of. By the time they’re done, they’ve got a foundation that lets them tackle any front-end challenge.
What makes us different? We don’t hide behind buzzwords. We don’t promise to make you a “ninja developer” in eight weeks. We do promise clear teaching, practical projects, and instructors who’ve actually built real websites. Most of our team has worked on production code for years. We know what matters and what doesn’t—and we teach accordingly.
Core Modules
A structured path through HTML and CSS fundamentals
HTML Essentials
Elements, attributes, semantic markup, forms, accessibility basics. You’ll understand the structure that holds websites together.
CSS Styling
Selectors, cascading, specificity, color, typography, spacing. We break down how to style elements without the confusion.
Layouts & Positioning
Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, mobile-first thinking. Modern layout techniques that actually make sense once you understand them.
Responsive Design
Media queries, viewport settings, breakpoints, fluid design. You’ll build sites that look right on every screen size.
Animations & Transitions
CSS animations, transitions, transforms, performance optimization. Adding polish to your designs without breaking things.
Real Projects
Portfolio sites, landing pages, component libraries. You’ll build actual websites using everything you’ve learned.
Our Learning Process
Step-by-step progression designed for real understanding
Learn the Fundamentals
We start with the absolute basics. HTML structure, CSS syntax, how browsers interpret your code. You won’t move forward until these concepts click. No guessing, no cargo-cult coding.
Build Small Projects
Theory needs practice. You’ll create real websites—small at first, then progressively more complex. Each project reinforces what you’ve learned and teaches you something new.
Get Feedback & Iterate
We review your work. Not to criticize—to help you improve. You’ll learn best practices, understand why your code works (or doesn’t), and develop better habits.
Tackle Advanced Topics
Once you’ve got the foundation solid, we dive deeper. Advanced CSS techniques, responsive design patterns, performance optimization. You’re ready because you’ve built a real base.
Why We Teach This Way
Principles that guide everything we do at WebCode Basis B.V.
“The best developers aren’t the ones who memorize everything. They’re the ones who understand the foundations deeply enough to figure out anything new.”
— Core belief at WebCode Basis B.V.
We don’t believe in shortcuts. Yes, you can copy code from tutorials and make something that looks nice. But you won’t understand it. You won’t be able to debug it when something breaks. You won’t be able to adapt it to your needs. We’re teaching you to think like a developer, not to be a code-copying machine. That means slower at first, but stronger in the long run.
We also believe in clarity over cleverness. Your code doesn’t need to be fancy. It needs to work, be readable, and solve the problem. We’re teaching professional practices—semantic HTML, organized CSS, responsive thinking—because these are what matters in the real world. You’re not learning to impress other developers. You’re learning to build reliable websites.
